Volunteer Opportunities ~ How you can make a difference at River Hospital
River Hospital is pleased to accept volunteers to assist with a variety of activities for the patients of the facility, as well as departmental support. Our volunteers are very important to us and we will make every effort to put your skills to use in the area you request.
The first step to becoming a Volunteer is to complete the Volunteer Application and return it to the hospital's Human Resource Department by mail or in person. When we have received your completed application the 'Request for Reference' will be mailed to three of your listed references. It is to your advantage to advise your references that the request may be mailed to them and to please return the completed questionnaire as soon as possible. Once all the completed references are returned to the Human Resource Department you will be notified and will be requested to complete the 'Volunteer Health Assessment'. An annual health assessment will be completed at no charge, along with TB testing, which is required by the State of New York as a condition of volunteer status. TB testing and health assessments are available Monday through Friday at the River Community Clinic. It is the applicant's responsibility to schedule the health assessment by calling the Clinic at (315) 482-2094. Be sure to let the scheduler know this assessment is for volunteer status, and present the completed Volunteer Health Assessment Form, including signature, at the time of the appointment.
For more information or questions about becoming a volunteer do not hesitate to contact our Human Resource Department, Will Connor, at 315-482-1198 or by email at wconnor@riverhospital.org
