River Community Care opened on April 29, 2003 to provide primary healthcare to the River Communities. Conveniently located adjacent to the River Hospital, River Community Care provides comprehensive primary family care services. We welcome year-round and seasonal residents, as well as visitors and military families. Services provided include: Women's Health, Men's Health, Infant, Child, and Adolescent Health, Immunizations and Allergy Shots, Osteopathic Evaluations, Skin Care, Diabetes Education and Access to Inpatient & Swing Care.
Our providers see patients Monday through Friday and are happy to accommodate same day walk-in/call-in patients as best as the schedule allows, and all have admitting privileges at River Hospital. The clinic staff also includes Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nurse's Aides. The River Community Care is here to take care of all your day-to-day health concerns.

River Community Care's On-Staff Providers

Jeniffer Wilkie Alberry, FNP-C, is a native of the North Country and a 1996 graduate of Thousand Islands Central School. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Russell Sage College, Troy, NY, in 2000 and her Master of Science in Nursing at SUNY Upstate Medical University College of Nursing in 2004. She holds certification from the ANCC and in Basic Life Support/CPR and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Mrs. Alberry was on the River Community Care and River Hospital staff from September 2006 to September 2008 and rejoined the staff in June 2009. Mrs. Alberry is practicing adult and pediatric care at River Community Care and inpatient services at River Hospital. She is currently the President of Medical Staff. |
Aaron Huizenga, D.O. joined River Community Care and River Hospital staff September 2, 2008. He came to the area from Muskegon, Michigan. Dr. Huizenga received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Campaign in 1996 and his Doctor of Osteopathic medicine from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2003. He served his internship and residency at Mercy General Health Partners, Muskegon, Michigan from 2003 to 2006. His general family practice included adult and pediatric care and obstetrics and gynecology at Muskegon Family Care. Dr. Huizenga is practicing adult and pediatric care at River Community Care and inpatient services at River Hospital. He is currently the Medical Director of River Community Care. |

Amanda Rydberg, PA, joined River Community Care full-time in September 2012. She received a Masters of Physician Assistant from University of Nebraska in Omaha in May 2011. Her Bachelor of Science degree as a Physician Assistant was earned at Rochester Institute of Technology in May 1999. |
Lauren Roman, MD joined River Community Care full time in February 2013. Dr. Roman provides a full-spectrum of family medicine for patient of all ages. Her past experience includes wokring as the interim Deputy Commander for Clinical Servcies at Fort Drum MEDDAC. Dr. Roman completed her residency and internship in family medicine at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center after graduating medical school from the University at Buffalo, and holds a membership with the American Adacimy of Family Physicians. |
