River Hospital Welcomes Interventional Pain Management Specialist Dr. Aathi Thiyaga

River Hospital is pleased to announce that Dr. Aathi Thiyaga, Interventional Pain Management Specialist, will begin seeing patients on May 4, 2026.

Dr. Thiyaga is Board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, Pain Medicine. He has been practicing in Northern New York since 2018. Bringing extensive experience in diagnosing and treating chronic pain conditions, particularly those that persist despite initial conservative therapies such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, activity modification, and first-line medications.

Dr. Thiyaga’s approach focuses on evidence-based, procedure-driven pain relief using image-guided interventions. His goal is to help patients improve function, mobility, and overall quality of life through minimally invasive techniques.

Services provided include:

  • Ultrasound and fluoroscopy-guided procedures for spine, joint, and nerve-related pain
  • Collaborative, multidisciplinary care with surgeons, physical therapists, chiropractors, mental health providers, and primary care providers
  • Carefully selected pain management medications, when clinically appropriate, to complement procedural treatment plans

Dr. Thiyaga is accepting most major insurance plans, with the exception of Workers’ Compensation.
